Tegoshism: Worshipping Tegoshi-kami-sama

Since I only believe in what that could be seen, could be proved and touched, and could move around and is not perfect, I develop a religion just to worship one individual.

Tegoshi said he wanted to be God one day. He is now one. Dreams fulfilled.

Information on God Tegoshi Yuya

Tegoshi Yuya, an idol from the great, awesome pretty-boy-factory, Johnny’s Jimusho entered the idol world in December 2002. He had appeared in a number of shows in Shounen Club and JE medias, due to his holy voice that could make hearts go “DOKI DOKI”, he managed to debut as a NEWS member only 10 months after he joined JE.

When he was first in NEWS, the other members did not know who he was, he also expressed in “Shounen Club Premium” that Nishikido Ryo asked who he was in a quite scary way. Ryo’s hair was bleached and pushed back that time. The pressure from being in a group which he didn’t know anyone was not a great experience. He also mentioned on how much he felt like he wanted to withdraw from NEWS, but thanks to his wise decisions, he did not give up on his dreams and continue to reach out for his dream.

His voice had enchanted several hearts, and is indeed one of the best vocals in NEWS. His great voice had brought him to debut a sub-group with Masuda Takahisa (also a NEWS member) called Tegomasu (Tegomass). Their first debut was in Sweden, with their single called MISO SOUP. A few months later, the Japanese single was released. Tegomasu also released KISS~Kaerimichi no Love Song (2007) which is the ED of the anime Lovely Complex, as well as the latest release in 2008 called Ai AI Gasa for ending song for Neo-Angelique Abyss anime. They also have a new song called Kataomoi no Chiisana Koi, yet there are no news of this song being released yet.

Apart from singing, he also takes on acting as well as voice acting (seiyuu). He starred as the main character in a movie, Shissou or Dead Run, and is the first member who appeared in movies. It was said that the director watched the NEWS/KAT-TUN SUMMARY 2004, wanted Tegoshi to take on the role in this movie.

He also started to appear in dramas, his first mini-drama was 15 sai no Blues, which he took on the character of a junior high school boy who had problems (school work, love, being bullied, family problems). He also starred in a mini-series of Gekidan Engimono with his fellow NEWS members, Masuda, Kusano and Shige. His role was a strange boy who loves bugs and is rather in denial of being an adolescence in contrast to his friends. In 2006, he had three dramas, at the beginning of the year, he appeared in Gachibaka along with Masuda, as a problematic, antisocial kid (again) who hated teachers and school because he injured his arm and could not be a swimmer like he wanted, yet no one helped him. His role changed to a happy, energetic high school student in My Boss, My Hero, where he starred along with Nagase Tomoya (TOKIO). During winter, he appeared in a Winter SP drama called HYOTEN. In 2007, he took the role of a young master during the Tokugawa period (I think it was Tokugawa), with his legendary hairstyle. He acted with a HEYSAYJUMP member, Takaki Yuya. He will appear in this role again in 2008, also as a special drama.

He also voice acted for Mumble in HAPPY FEET, and is a permanent host in a variety show called ITTE Q!

The Tengoshi Commandments

1) You may worship other religions like Yamapinity, Kamenishity (etc)
2) You should have loads of pictures of TeGODshi Yuya.
3) Don’t really care if you misuse the name of God. You can say “Oh my Tesshi” without sinning.
4) This God is not perfect. He is chotto wagamama, and talks superior but doesn’t mean it, so if you wanna criticize on him, be rational and reasonable
5) You have to at least have his picture in your wallet, or have him on your PC wallpaper to see his existence everyday.
6) You have to at least manage to sing his songs and appreciate his voice once a day.
7) Do not hurt him by attacking him like crazy fangirls
8) At least watch one of his dramas.
9) Loves NEWS and TEGOMASU
10) Basically.. just love Tegoshi more each day….No matter what hairstyle he has, how feminine he is, or how lovely his voice can be.
