人は何かの犠牲なしに何も得ることは出来ない。何かを得る為には同等の代価が必要になる

人は何かの犠牲なしに何も得ることは出来ない。何かを得る為には同等の代価が必要になる

This is the famous quote from the popular anime series called Full Metal Alchemist. Apparently, this is a very good quote that I think is indeed true. It is literally translated to, “People cannot gain things without sacrificing another thing. Something of an equal value is needed to be presented in order to gain something.

I would like to say this is actually true. There is hardly anything that you would want to do, without gaining something in return. For example, a school educates you, but there need to be something in exchange for education which is the student’s money, in exchange of the education you will receive. You need to do those paperwork in order to earn money when you have reached your working years. You need to do nice things for people in order to gain their likes for you, and gain happiness.

There is nothing in the world which you do or sacrifice, without gaining something in return.

Even if you said that you want to do something for the society, or donate money to charity, for course, there is nothing that you will gain, but what you will gain is something priceless and cannot be seen, but only be felt. That is respect, happiness and the feeling that you too would be able to make a difference to help people. That;s priceless I guess..
